Mon, 12 Oct 2009 18:28:55 -0500
Hello all
My Suzuki Swift appears to have popped its water pump :(
After a good eBaying, I can't find one for less than ¡ê50, which i what
WeBuyAnyCar will pay to take it away.
But as it passed it's MOT with flying colours only 2 weeks ago, I'm loathe
to scrap the beastie.
Does anyone happen to have suc ...

What BMW engine puts out about 180+ hp and is reliable?
Mon, 12 Oct 2009 21:32:21 +0100
Following on from my previous thread, I am no longer looking at the
528 as I've seen so many with overheating problems in my price range.
I can't afford a really new car, my *max* spend is about 2.5k. But I
want a BMW with a decent amount of poke, an auto box, 4 comfortable
seats and an engine that won't release ...

Battery on it's way out?

2.0 HDI picasso
Starts fine, but I've noticed on cold mornings, if electrical load it high,
the voltage is very low on tickover. This happens for the first couple of
minutes of driving (I believe the glow plugs are turned on for this time
after cold start to reduce emmisions, so this may be a factor). There is ...

Corsa - burning out fan speed resistor assy.
Mon, 12 Oct 2009 12:22:57 +0100
Control of the ventilation fan in SWMBO's Corsa is achieved by large
green cement resistor with taps at speeds 1, 2, and 3 (speed 4 is flat
out, no resistance or current limiting in circuit).
The body of the resistor is mounted on a metal bracket and the
+12volts is fed to the resistor through a thermal cutout ...

Hello
A friend has a Renault Laguna, with the key (remote control w/2
buttons, and a real key). The electronic key could not close, because
teh switch had gone off the PCB.
New, after solering it back, the LED flashes (at high speed, like it
was on all the time). As I did not have the car, I believed that it

Peugeot 106 front brake pads
Sun, 11 Oct 2009 14:04:28 +0100
I'll have to admit I haven't been to the main agents yet. But I can't
seem to find the right brake pads for my 1998 106 diesel. All the ones
I've tried have been too wide. The metal back plate is right, but the
pad material is too thick to allow the pads to locate and allow
clearance for the retaining pin.
