When a site is maintained using a plain-text editor or similar, rather
than a specialised page-set authoring tool, and especially when pages
are renamed or moved or removed and content is moved between pages, it
is necessary to ensure that all local links still point to pages and
anchors that exist, and that ancho ...

Google map in Drupal page
Mon, 26 Oct 2009 10:26:32 +0000
I've been developing a Google map which sits in a Drupal page.
Unfortunately the styles in the Drupal theme seem to be affecting the
'Map', Satellite', 'Hybrid', 'Terrain' buttons on the map causing
extra padding at the bottom.
I've tried overriding css for input, button, td, tr but nothing seems
to get rid o ...

DNS Propagation
Fri, 16 Oct 2009 12:10:09 +0100
Afternoon all
Is anyone else seeing long delays in DNS propagation. We use 123-reg and
I've had 2 domains where the nameservers went through quite quickly but it
seems to be taking 2 or 3 days for A/MX records to update.
I't driving me mad as we have one client who's losing e-mails as some users
get the m ...

Non-list items in lists
Mon, 12 Oct 2009 09:31:19 +0100
Imagine a long nested list of items, or a long definition list, prefaced
with an index to that list.
To make it easier to use, you might want to put a link to "List index"
at various points in the list, perhaps at each major group in the list:
List of members by birth date

Quote: Ebay & Paypal optimised and built for IE
Fri, 9 Oct 2009 10:40:53 +0100
For ages now when I buy on ebay and follow the login to paypal I get hit
with an alert box of "Warning this page contains some unencrypted info...
etc".
I finally decided to poke paypal into explaining themselves and after a
series of feeble responses including "Your password is not accepted" and
"You have ...

Stretchy images with CSS layout
Sat, 19 Sep 2009 17:30:42 +0100
This is doing my head in. I'm trying to get my head around CSS, and
I reckon I'm doing fairly well so far. I have the following layout
successfully built as a prototype, using a table layout structure, but I
understand that I should really be considering CSS based layouts. (Content
vs presentation, and all that.)

Calling all guitarists for critique please

I am sure you have all come across tablature many times, unless you are a
stave reader, so can I get your opinion on the idea I came up with for
making the rhythm layout more understanderble without sticks and lines;
http://www.crackguitar.com/tab/tab_bullsonparade.html for a simplistic
rhythm.

Image hotlinking affecting stats?
Fri, 28 Aug 2009 13:54:57 +0100
My highest reffering site to CrackGuitar for months has been this online
radio station 'Deezer' but I don't see why, the only full tracks on there
are guitar students first recordings etc. If Deezer is hotlinking an image
would that list on "Links from an external page"?
