Activating Sky FTV Card for use in Spain

I wonder if anyone can give advice on activating a Sky FTV card.
My Father-in-law has purchased a SKY FTV card (using a UK address) to go
into his sky box in Spain but to activate it, he needs to put the card
in the box and then ring Sky. He doesn't want to try and activate the
card in Spain as he will ph ...

I vaguely remember posts about this some time ago, but can't remember
the details.
Recently, noticed that, when I go to fast forward an ad break, my Sky+
box jumps back to the start of the programme (NOT, NB, the start of the
recording, which is usually a few minutes before that). This only seems
to occur ...

Taking UK Sky outfit to Ireland

Hello.
I have just taken an old Sky system to a friend on the West Coast of
Ireland (Co Donegal). I'd got a new card for the FTV etc. It all works
fine but is still showing the local stations ie: BBC South
Yorks/Lincs. How do I change the setting so he gets the local
stations?

Sky plus box dying

I think my Sky+ box is dying, but I'd appreciate confirmation (or
otherwise) of my diagnosis and suggestions for the best options. The box is
out of warranty, so I'd rather keep calls to Sky's customer service to a
minimum.

Hi, all.
A bit new to sky, just got a Samsung HD box installed.
We have a multiswitch installed here, with dual outlets in every room.
Previously, I had a Humax foxsat HD freesat PVR in this room, for BBC
HD. It showed 100% strength and 100% quality.
The sky HD box shows only 80% strength and 80% quality ...

Samsung HD boxes: New EPG imminent

I have a Samsung HD digibox. Received an email earlier today informing me
new EPG is "on it's way". Looks like this batch of upgrades is for boxes
suffixed with "005". Hopefully get it before Saturday so I can watch Star
Wars on ITV HD.

MTI Quad LNB crap or not?

Was always led to believe that MTI LNB's were a good brand. I had
recent contact with a camper down here in Spain, offering Quad MTI
LNB's at 20 euros each, to other campers onto a site, I normally

I have an old digibox and I think it's about time that I got a Sky + box. I
asked at our local independent dealer and he quoted me ¡ê250 for a
replacement Sky + box, which included installation (what installation, it's
a straight swap). Anyway, I know there are a lot of people here with ideas
how to do this cheap ...
