Sky+ --->HD convert question

Hi guys,
I've just bought a HD box on ebay, but it comes without a remote. will my
old Sky+ remote do the job?
The question is that simple!

watching 2 channels together on Sky+

Hi I know it is possible to watch one channel while recording another but is
it somehow possible to watch 2 different channels at the same time? Or even
watch a recording while watching a live program? On 2 different TVs of
course :-)

Just got new cards today and it says switch off box for 24hrs before
swapping card!
I can live without watching but I have recordings set etc so is it really
necessary to wait so long?

Looking at the e bay site there appears to be a lot of bargain Sky+boxes
available, are they any good or should I stay well clear of them.
There is also a number of DIY books/CDs guaranteeing to fix your box, any
body bought one and did it prove helpful.

Now a firm fan of the Humax Freesat box for us folks down here in
Spain. This boxes reception performs as well as the best of the SKY
boxes, and for me thats now official.
Couple of things worth pointing out, when offering customers a
replacement for their old Digibox. 1st off, no RF output, so no second
TV in ...

Finally tracked down a low hum near my set.It's coming from the Sky+
box,does this mean the HDD drive is getting worn and will expire or is it
the fan?
I am a former electronic engineer worked mostly on RN radar but a lot of
TV/Video/Microwave sets but since long retired I have not touched much in
that area.

Would anyone have any ideas what I can do about a Samsung Sky+ HD box where
several channels have out of sync sound? I posted here a while ago about

I have a Samsung HD digibox. Yesterday I was recording a programme and also
flicking up and down the channels using the whats on/now and next banner
(not physically changing the channel). All of a sudden the box was
unresponsive to the remote. Then after 3 or 4 seconds the box powered down
