Recycling components for robot construction.

I'm very new to robotics. I've read in a few places that it's best to
start off with all-new components. But after a while, one may recycle
components from previois robots and from other electronic equipment.
I have a load of old electronic stuff cluttering up my flat. I've
never got round to taking to it the ...

Which programming language to learn

reading, and am about to embark on a "first robot tutorial" on the
Society of Robotics website.
When I reach a more advanced level, I know I will need programming
skills. I haven't done any programming apart from some BASIC at

C compiler for PICs
Thu, 7 Jun 2007 20:15:34 +0100
Anyone know of a good C compiler for PICs.
I'm looking for something that will support a good range of devices and
provides some sort of simulation. I'm interested in the WIZ-C product from
forest electronics, but thought I'd get a second opinion before I part with
my cash - see:-
