Before the re-tune the ITV and Channel 4 MUX was poor during winter time
(CH68), or more specifically when there was low pressure (who needs a
barometer. You could tell when it was going to rain because of the "no or
bad signal" messages, or the picture/sound would pixilate/break-up)

New channel coming on?

Yesterday I was asked by two people about a new channel that is coming on
soon. Both said they had seen the channel advertised on another TV channel.
Does anyone know what they are talking about? Neither of them knew what the
channel was going to be about, or what it was called etc.... Can some kind
soul enligh ...

My Sky Freesat box says we get ITV Yorks E, whereas the proper Freesat box
says we get ITV Yorks W. And why do I have to key in the password on the
latter for ITV London?

Satellite hunting

Just setting up my Zone 2 + Quad LNB.
I was where I thought I should be and the signal meter showed a strong
signal but my new Bush receiver showed nothing.
Connected to my Panasonic TV and found I had a non-Freesat satellite.
From the channels I deduced I was on 19.2E.
Moved the dish about 10 degrees Ea ...

Now that I've cancelled my Sky sub, I'm going to switch to one of these.
There's a couple of places on ebay doing them for ¡ê235, one of which offered
to do me one for ¡ê225 direct with no ebay fees.
Anyone know of anywhere cheaper, or would one of the regular installers on
here like to flog me one?
