I'd have thought this was a limitation of the hardware in the PC?

dummy load for DC or AC
Sun, 15 Nov 2009 00:53:17 GMT
Does anyone know where I can buy a ready made dummy load for testing AC and
DC power supplies? I would need to vary the resistance sufficiently to test
everything from 12V 0.5A units to 55V 5A units. This would be a 24 hour soak
test. I can check the amperage and ripple, but I need a convenient
switchable load. At ...

Poor sound production on Xfactor again!
Sat, 14 Nov 2009 20:46:30 -0000
Anyone watching Xfactor? Not only are the sound crew not monitoring the
audio output -
but they are also allowing feedback and whistles!
Screams from the crowd are louder than presenter's voices, mics are not
being turned up
loud enough and the whole thing is a shambles again.
It sounds absolutely terrible!

[Mildly OT] a lot of wideband aerials covering a wide band of the sky ATM
Sat, 14 Nov 2009 17:37:01 -0000
Hi,
I am not necessarily looking for an explanation as to why the bigger the
aerial the thinner the pole, but there are a lot of wideband aerials at the
moment waving around all four points of the compass looking for a
transmitter to point at.
At least I assume this is auto-seeking as found in motorised sa ...

Multiplex C at Crystal Palace jerky
Sat, 14 Nov 2009 13:40:58 -0000
I've been getting a lot of jerking problems with Channel Dave in the last
week, making programmes unwatchable. I've just explored and found all the
Multiplex C channels are doing the same thing. I have a Philips Freeview
box. Does anyone know what's happening?
