Recommendations for a Band E aerial and supplier?
Thu, 8 Oct 2009 21:13:06 +0100
Just about talked myself into replacing my current aerial with a new Band E.
Last time I asked (years ago) Bill's recommendation had just gone out of
production.
I am not sure what I have up there at the moment but mux 68 is not visible
through it (but I can get everything in my camper in the front drive wit ...

Freesat or Freeview for HD in the long run?
Thu, 8 Oct 2009 20:26:02 +0100
O.K.
looking at various online fora it seems that Freesat may be a bit behind the
curve as regards HD.
HD soon/now involves paying Sky.
<warding sign against evil>
Or paying Virgin extra for the + service.
<reinforce warding sign and sacrifice sexually inexperienced offering>
HD later involves replacing ...

Virgin1 - audio interference
Thu, 8 Oct 2009 06:50:01 -0700 (PDT)
So I'm sat at home today not feeling too good (man flu) and flicking
through the channels I thought I'd give Star Trek:enterprise. There's
an interference on the audio almost like static 'clicking'. Most
annoying to the point where I can't really enjoy the programme. Any
ideas? Problem at source? No other channels ...

Just a comment
Thu, 08 Oct 2009 10:15:02 GMT
From what I read here and elsewhere about these various set top boxes and
tvs, makes me wonder how much real testing of the equipment and software
running in them is actually done before they are released on an unsuspecting
public. One would have thought, that by now, after the problems with split
nits etc, th ...

OT: Ferguson FTV 28FW1
Thu, 8 Oct 2009 08:50:31 +0100
Hi All,
Does anyone know how to set up the aspect ratio on a Ferguson FTV 28FW1?
I've found the usual 16:9/4:3/ settings, plus one called "Auto" that doesn't
seem to do anything.
It's taking video from AV1 via a SCART lead from a Sky box. The Sky
programme guide and other menus fill the screen, but TV pic ...

Boosting of tx power
Wed, 07 Oct 2009 10:28:38 +0200
I've heard a while ago they will boost tx power in the UK. When will that
happen?? I'm interested in Dover tx, or others that could reach the
Belgian coast...
The good news is that in 2010 France will be boosting the power, and see for
the 80kw Bouvigny tx:
