1) the family ame was mispelt ? and worse the cheque was unsigned!! So a

I get cross.
Tue, 14 Jul 2009 23:57:23 +0100
I get very cross with Bookies who do not adhere the norm for place betting.
I placed an EW bet on Cognac Boy at 18/1 with an on course Lady Bookie at
Brighton. As I walk away I notice that it was at 1/5th odd and the rest had
the usual 1/4 odds marked on their boards.
I go back and tell her that I will not be p ...

Now he tells me!
Tue, 14 Jul 2009 12:46:11 +0100
My b-in-law was over from Ballydoyle for a couple of days at the weekend
so gave me a chance to have some racing chat. Nothing likely to be
immediately profitable, but it's not the stable to be looking for for
dark horses.
Seems that right now, the thinking is that Yeates will have another go
at the Ascot ...

Grand Prix de Paris
Tue, 14 Jul 2009 02:14:48 +0100
Pretty uninspiring renewal , for a race which in the last five years has
been taken by two Arc winners and two strong Arc fancies . 50% O'Brien
entries , decent but second-string , the Italian Derby winner supplemented
by Godolphin , and only three French entries , of which Royer-Dupre's
Beheshtam is probably ...

tail tale
Mon, 13 Jul 2009 14:33:22 +0100
Just reading Charlie Brooks' debut novel - a bent handler traps a filly's
tail in the rear gate of the stalls , so she gets away ten lengths behind
the field . Is this feasible ? Has it ever happened (not necessarily
deliberately!) ?

An equal chance in Handicaps.
Sun, 12 Jul 2009 16:55:17 +0100
Punters like the big Handicaps and Bookies love them. However nowadays
Handicaps have become almost boring with a very restricted weight range and
the lower rated horses have no chance of getting a run. Occasionally the
sponsors will provide a lesser Silver Cup race for the lower rated horses.
What God give ...

Morning Line censored again?
Sun, 12 Jul 2009 16:49:46 +0100
Any time that there is anything of a controversial nature C4 seem to keep
Tanya and Big Mac off the Morning Line. This week she must have had
thousands of
E-Mails about the charges being imposed by the Racing Post. So keep them
off air and just have the smug cosy boys sitting in their comfy armchairs
around ...
