Seniors frustration...
Sat, 25 Jul 2009 23:43:53 +0100
Having missed the Seniors Open by being jammed up on the M25/M3
for hours, I left the area and headed home not expecting the
officials to be flexible with only three hours play left.
I so wanted to see Watson, Faldo, Blackmore and company, more
research and early start needed next year!

Graphite Shafts On Drivers: Breakage Prone ?
Tue, 21 Jul 2009 18:47:05 -0400
Hello,
I guess graphite shafts are quite common these days on Drivers and Woods.
Question: I have heard that they break very often (compared to steel
shafts) where the shaft enters the club head.
Is this true ?
If so, what causes for the most part ?
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks,

Can Watson Do It?
Sun, 19 Jul 2009 08:11:34 -0400
Anyone?
Alliss said on US tv yesterday that he thought Watson stood as good a chance
as anyone due to huge links experience and because he knows the course so
well. Yesterday I think he showed the way for everyone else just what he is
still capable of.
Will his stamina hold up? Will anyone be able to blitz ...

rules history - DMD for Nearest to the Pin Contests
Sat, 18 Jul 2009 07:50:10 +0200
Hi there,
I'd like to know by which document DMD were first allowed to measure
Nearest to the Pin contests "after all players have concluded the hole".
According to my information it may have been in 2005, shortly before those
general local rules on DMD on the course were allowed by a decision.
Has the change ...

I actually typed Poluter in the subject which is not too far off the
mark considering what he was wearing today.
As Peter Allis said, to get away with that outfit you need to be 5
under not 5 over.
What is the betting he rings in sick tomorrow
Looks good on the course but I would like to see some wind tomor ...

Jamie Donaldson hard done by?
Wed, 15 Jul 2009 00:57:30 +0100
Was anyone else puzzled by the incident in the Scottish Open involving Jamie
Donaldson.
His ball was just off the green after two strokes, just hanging on at the
top of a slope. Lee Westwood played his second shot, his ball disturbed
Donaldson's ball, and both balls rolled to the bottom of the slope about 20

Slicer looking for easy solution
Mon, 13 Jul 2009 14:55:20 +0100
I am a 25 handicap player with a built-in slice of monumental
proportions.
Two years ago, my club pro, who has now left the area, ordered for me an
offset, closed face driver of what I believe was 14¡ã loft. It made the
game playable for me and I've never enjoyed the game more. I'm hitting
up to about 200 yar ...

What does par really mean some of these days
Mon, 13 Jul 2009 08:11:35 -0400
In the John Deere Classic that finished yesterday, the player in last place
(65th) was on one over - the only player in the field who was not under par
after 72 holes.
The 36 hole cut was at three under. This player dropped all of four strokes
in the final 36 holes to finish last - the player in 64th place, t ...

Lining up behind putter - bad etiquette
Sun, 12 Jul 2009 11:37:30 -0700 (PDT)
I know that it is considered bad etiquette to stand behind a player or
opposite hi/her if you have to play a similar putt.
Does it actually breach any rules. I have looked at Rule 8 (advice)
and cannot see anything.
I occasionally play with someone who does this and would like to
advise her about it but don't w ...
