This morning I was starter at our Senior's Open which goes on all day.
I sent off about 40 fourballs which of course was 160 Senior golfers.
Of those 160 many came to the tee from the car park and just swung a
driver to loosen up their old bones. NOT ONE swung their clubs over

Golfing Gem.

Played a course yesterday that I hadn?t played in twenty years and
found that I had forgotten what a gem it is. The course is Wallasey on
the Wirral. The experience was just magic. I have played all but one

Moortown Centenary programme on Sky Sports

Just watched the first half hour of an excellent hour long programme
on the centenary of Moortown Golf club and the first place that the
Ryder Cup was played in GB&I (and won) in 1929.
The course looked wonderful and lots of old golfing faces - John
Jacobs, Tommy Horton and many others.

I've always been uncertain about the different requirements in the RoG
of dropping and placing the ball.
Therefore, I've had a look for "plac" in the English rules, trying to
identify where "place" or "placing" is used there.

Result of a comp announced, although wrong conditions of comp....

It's my understanding that if a result is announced, then that's about
it.
Last week a competition for a qualifier into an area competition, was
played under stableford, full handicap and the result announced.
Although at the time, there was some "discussion" as to the exact
conditions of competition.
