Texas Scramble teams of 3

My Senior Section plays a Texas Scramble once a month with teams of 3.
Needless to say, inevitably the last team out is a team of 2 or 4.
How is the best way of dealing with the score that these teams return to
fairly reflect their advantages/disadvantages over the standard teams of
3?

The EGU use the following yardages to establish a Basic SSS which is used as
a temporary SSS for longer courses until their permanent SSS can be assessed
using the EGU Course Rating System and as a SSS for courses of 3000-4000
yards.
