Capita boss quits over loan for government IT contracts scandal

The chairman of outsourcing firm Capita is stepping down over
"spurious" claims his ¡ê1m loan to Labour resulted in the group getting
government contracts.
Rod Aldridge, one of 12 donors who lent the party almost ¡ê14m in total

asking for his nomination for a seat in the House of Lords to be
withdrawn.
In a statement, Sir Gulam said the current controversy had placed him
in an "invidious position".
