Re Using Sky Plus box in Spain

Just an idea, but ........................
I have an old Sky Plus box and thought maybe I could take it to Spain where
we have Sky just on the free BBC card basis.
Would it still work on the assumption that we just use the one existing feed
wire and so be able to record progs whist out.
Hope someone knows ...
