Pub in Waltham Abbey or Epping

Hi,
We are going to be meeting some friends over Xmas, and have worked out
that Waltham Abbey is about the half way point. Can anyone recommend a
decent, but family friendly pub somewhere around here? It has to be
within easy reach of an M25 junction ideally.

Can anybody recommend a good, trustworthy builder who might be able to cure
a recently-appeared damp line on a wall for me? My "little man" is honest
enough to say he is up to his neck in work until Christmas and doesn't want
to take on any other commitments at the moment.
