I'm just back from a very nice evening in Cockermouth. The Christmas lights were supposed to be switched on on Sunday 22nd November - for obvious reasons, that never happened. A lot of us assumed there just wouldn't be any Christmas lights in town this year, but then the ones that hadn't been affected by flood ...
