Shops closing all over the place.
Same old pattern - shop closes - charity shop opens - another shop closes -
another Building Society opens - another shop goes out of business-
another Estate agent opens.

What is it that makes local authorities grant permission to these grotty
shop that sell "Made in Cornwall" items that have nothing whatsoever to do
with the South West ?
Do these faceless persons, sitting in an office in County Hall somewhere ,
actually believe that this is the sort of rubbish that tourists ...

Many years ago (~40+), in at least a couple of pubs in West Cornwall,
you could see a painting of a moonlit farmyard featuring the rear view
of a pig. The painting would be titled BEVOAPABM, which IIRC stood for
Bird's Eye View Of A Pig's Arse By Moonlight. As I remember seeing it
