can anyone help me find a really first rate text book for doing year
11/12 (australian system: last two years of maths)
i am a highly motivated adult, working pretty much on my own, having
spent several months last year going through most of the topics senior
high school maths, but fast!
now i need to go back ...

Hi there,
A variable number of people are sitting down with a button in front of
them. They all press the button once within a 30 second time frame.
What I need to work out is how many people it would take for the
probability of at least 17 people pressing the button on the same second to
reach 0.1%.

simple(?) algebra question

Hi, wish I'd have paid more attention at school - who would have thought
algebra would actually come in useful in the real world!
Just need help with this -
if x = (a-b)/b
then how do I rearrange it to find out b if I know a and x?
