Hi all
I am having difficulties interpreting the following question:
"I have decided to hold a barbeque on June 21. If the probability that it
will rain that day is 0.28 and the probability that the temperature willbe
less than 15 degrees is 0.07 and I have decided that I will not have the

Playing Cards
Thu, 30 Jul 2009 01:33:11 -0700 (PDT)
I know that there are 52! (or 8.07x10^67) possible arrangements of a
deck of 52 playing cards, but can anyone tell me how many of those
arrangements would result in a game of Klondike being successfully

Mechanics question
Sun, 12 Jul 2009 19:40:15 +0100
Hello
I'm trying to find the burst speed of a rotating cylindrical annulus.
Simplistically its when the stress from centripetal force exceeds the UTS of
the material, but can't visualise this force over the radius of the annulus.

radius ...

A-level classes
Thu, 02 Apr 2009 23:13:22 +0100
I am a mature student wanting to study A-level Maths. Nothing beyond
'basic numeracy' appears to exist among the evening classes available
locally, and so I have been investigating correspondence courses. Now I
have discovered that none of the local colleges are prepared to accept
me as an 'external' candida ...

So ... any questions on solving Partial Differential Equations Using Green's Functions?
Wed, 25 Mar 2009 02:55:26 +0000
... well you shouldn't try it. Any other method of solution is probably
easier.
Doesn't mean I won't give it a shot in Judge Jules problem.
There is nothing I enjoy more than doing difficult Maths and actually
getting somewhere with it.
Well .. same for anything else in life with me ... actually.
