I explained that if he was in a wi-fi area he could use ...

Snow Leopard, SheepShaver and Basilisk     Mon, 16 Nov 2009 17:07:07 +0000
I've just completed my upgrade to Snow Leopard and the Software Update to 10.6.2 (which was 533.4 MB for the 10.6.2 combo, BTW). All went without a hitch, I'm pleased to say. I've just tried SheepShaver (for System 9.0.4) and Basilisk (for System 7.6.1) and both seem to work OK. Now to try some of the other ...

Are there any good alternatives to Apple's Mail app for IMAP mail? I'm using Apple Mail at the moment but might switch to an alternative if suitable. The choices I'm aware of are... Apple Mail - It works but I don't like the filtering much and the GUI requires more effort than other clients I've used. I've mad ...

10.6 and problems with aliases     Mon, 16 Nov 2009 16:35:37 +0000
We've got a couple of 10.6.2 Macs here, ethernettted together. When file sharing, it seems that the two 10.6 Macs have trouble with aliases. Basically, they don't seem to work right. What do I mean? Read on: Yesterday's problem: I connected from the Intel iMac to the MBP. I moved a file to the MBP's Appl ...
