Evolution questions

To cut a long story short I need to move away from Thunderbird at work and
so far have found evolution to be best alternative. Except for a couple of
niggles:
- I'd like to be able to store replies in the same folder as the original
email
- I can't set the default view to have the 'subject' column first (it

supported by Linux?
Ideally it would work when plugged into a Mac, too.

MIDI sound file converters

I picked up a recommendation for TiMidity on the WINE mailing list,
looked at it (it seems OK) but found that its not supported by Fedora
(i.e. not a mainstream package or pert of extras). It doesn't seem to be
in rpmfusion either.
So, is this worthwhile the download and build time or is there a better
MIDI ...

libpng oddity

I have a program which uses qsort and bsearch to make an index to some
data structures, and libpng to make graphics from what it finds. However,
under some conditions, loading libpng seems to make bsearch crash in a way
that confuses seven bells out of gdb.
Anyone seen this before?

get_iplayer says no specified modes available

I had get-player working well but today (after possibly ill-advised
upgrade) I get:
INFO: Checking existence of audiodescribed version
INFO: No specified modes (iphone,flashhigh,flashstd,flashnormal)
available for this programme with version 'audiodescribed' (try modes:)
I've tried various modes as suggested ...
