Why no volume when playing video on BBC iPlayer?

Does anyone have any experience of using the update route from Vista to
Windows 7 (and so keeping all installed programs etc.) compared to a
clean install on a reformatted hard drive?
If it works (well) then it will save me oodles of time, but
historically a clean install was always the favoured option.

DVD burner and blank discs

I have an older LG GSA-4163B DVD burner and it can be quite fickle WRT which
make of discs it will burn to. This makes it a pain in the ass to buy blanks
as they don't make the one's I've been previously using. So I could buy a
load of blanks, only to find I've wasted my money as they won't burn on my

I have the download version of Win 7, i want a dual boot system and put in a
320gb WD SATA ll drive which i formatted in XP disk management, it shows up
as disk 1 - dynamic.
When i run set up and select Disk 1 - partition 1 Dynamic i get :-
Windows cannot be installed to Disk 1 Partition 1.

After trying 64 Vista and having the problems of being able to get no
drivers I wonder if there is any advantage for using 64 W7 ?
I do have a 64 CPU but is there any real benefit for a home user in 64 ?

Hi,
My Plextor px-760sa started becoming erratic etc and would not read then
finally would not even open the tray!
So I have just bought a new plextor px-880sa and loaded the plexutilities
disc but now it wont read anything else!! I get message to insert disc!
