New Graphics card arrived

Just taken delivery of my new GTX275 graphics card this morning.
About 8 years since I last built a PC, and all I can say is......
.....blimey, these new cards are big beasts aren't they?!!!! ...

PATA HDD (I'm up the creek?)

Am I now up the creek somewhat having only PATA HDD's?
Looking at potential motherboards (for a gifted E6300 processor) and just
see SATA capability.
I think I'm limited now on mobo choice. It seems.

I found that best thing is to get CPU-Z program (CPUID). Shows my BIOS
creditably.

Local shop - rip off merchants!

I've got everything ordered now for my new homebuilt PC, apart from the
memory.
I thought I'd check out one of the 2 local PC shops in the area, so I can
ask his advice on this latency jargon (I'm still trying to get my head
around it and want to know what I'm buying, rather than going in blind).
He tells ...

Following on from "Need a new power supply..."

Just bought a new power supply from Maplin as suggested - i KNOW could get a
cheaper one elsewhere online, but wanted to get the machine working ASAP.
Machine is now back to life - power supply, CPU and graphics card fans all
running ok. However, when connecting to a monitor it reoprts "No Video
Input".

The power supply of my rather dated (2004) Medion 8083 has died. It is
identical to eBay item number 140343891437.
Unfortunately they don't seem to be available any more (apart from 2nd
hand).
Any suggestion for one that will be an easy replacement. Preferably from the
usual suspects - i.e. ebuyer, etc.

HTPC HDMI Problem

I have a HTPC with a Gigabyte GA-EG41MF-S2H motherboard and a Toshiba
42XV505DB 42" LCD TV, the HTPC is connected to the TV via the integrated
HDMI port.
The problem is that often when I switch from the HDMI channel on the TV
to Analogue TV then back to the HDMI channel the TV remains blue as if
its not rec ...
