What on earth has happened     Thu, 14 Aug 2008 15:00:05 +0100
For the past two days trying to access email, newsgroups and today even the internet generally has been a lottery. Virgin's telephone support service is carrying a message to the effect that there is a fault affecting several ISPs and they are talking to their suppliers and hope to resolve the issue as quickl ...

Inquiries about Jesus Christ     Sat, 19 Jul 2008 07:58:28 -0700 (PDT)
It is a dialogue from which clearly comes out that Jesus Christ is resurrected. It has been read by thousands of people all over the world and has provided to strengthen a lot of people in the Faith, to make the doubtful people to think it over and to see that the atheists would be surrendered. Virgin's email service has been down all morning (Sat 19th July) and the service line confirms they know about the problem and are dealing with it. Ho hum. I wonder what vital messages I've lost this time? -- Dave (Sgt. Pepper) Epsom, England My photo galleries at http://www.pbase.com/davecq ...

Hi to old and new friends. I'd given up on the Virgin groups, but just found this one. I went over to virgin media via cable early in the year. NO probs so far with b-b and the guys who connected it were excellent. Speed stays just over 2 mb. I was so fed up with how slow the old virgin.net b-b was getting. ...

Illegal Music Downloads     Fri, 04 Jul 2008 13:29:43 +0100
From today's Telegraph: "Eight Hundred VirginMedia customers who illegally download music from the internet have received letters warning them about their actions." It is an attempt to educate, not a threat to cut them off it is said. So why only eight hundred and are they monitoring everyone or just tracking t ...

Not Before Time     Wed, 02 Jul 2008 09:37:50 +0100
VirginMedia have had their knuckles rapped by the ASA following complaints by BT about VM's speed claims in what was considered misleading advertising. Pot calling Kettle Black, but it's a start and not before time. Alec ...

NatWest Bank     Sun, 29 Jun 2008 10:01:01 +0100
I'm currently getting one or two phishing emails wanting me to update my NatWest Bank details. They must be real muppits to think anyone would fall for this nonsense, especially with multiple messages. Anyone else getting them? Alec ...

news.virgin.net     Sat, 31 May 2008 07:55:24 GMT
Out of curiosity I just switched to news.virgin.net, which is still there. All the groups have now gone except the virginmdia ones and they are read only. Presumably some sort of marker for those who are not aware of the change. Also noticed that text.news.virginmedia.com appears to be a lot faster than news.vi ...
